  • Since 1986, Esprit du Sel's determination has been total for the protection of the salt marshes of the Ile de Ré.

In 1994, they founded the company “Esprit du Sel”. This company corresponds to their commitment to maintaining and safeguarding the heritage value of the marshes. It is about enhancing culturally and economically the products from the traditional salt marsh: gray sea salt and fleur de sel from the Ile de Ré.

Their challenge: to develop and market high quality, original and varied “marine” products from the region, with the salt marsh and the sea as the central theme; products which claim to respect a tradition, which claim an artisanal value and respond to an ecological concern.

“We have set ourselves the objective of developing a range of fleur de sel and sea salts with 100% organic spices from typical products of Île de Ré, and the promotion of the quality image of the island by 'intermediary of its regional products in France and abroad'."
